Privacy policy
This policy describes how the TerraTac – Field & Ballistics Android app and this website handle information. If a feature listed here is not in your build, that section simply does not apply yet.
1. Short version
- No account is required.
- Rifle, load, and dope data stay on your device unless you export or back them up yourself.
- Ads are served by Google AdMob and may collect device and advertising identifiers.
- Optional weather or map features may send an approximate location to a weather or location provider.
- We do not sell your personal information.
2. Information stored on your device
The App may store locally:
- Firearm and ammunition profiles you create
- Zeros, sight settings, and calculation history
- App preferences (units, theme, last-used profile)
This data is not uploaded to our servers. If you uninstall the App or clear storage, it can be deleted. We cannot recover it.
3. Information we do not collect ourselves
We do not ask for:
- Your name, mailing address, or payment card (purchases go through Google Play)
- A TerraTac login
- Photos of targets or people, unless you later add a feature that you explicitly use
Support email you send us is stored in our inbox so we can reply. Do not include sensitive personal data in a support message unless needed.
4. Advertising (Google AdMob)
The App uses Google AdMob to show ads. Google and its partners may collect or infer:
- Advertising ID / device identifiers
- IP address and coarse location derived from IP
- Device type, OS version, app version
- Ad views, clicks, and approximate diagnostic data used to fight invalid traffic
This processing is governed by Google’s Privacy Policy and AdMob policies. You can reset or limit your advertising ID in Android settings, and you may see a consent or privacy message in regions that require it (for example EEA/UK).
5. Location and weather
If you allow location and use automatic atmosphere or weather fill, the App may send an approximate or precise location to a weather or geolocation provider solely to fetch temperature, pressure, humidity, wind, or similar values. We do not use that ping to build a movement history.
You can deny location permission and enter conditions by hand. Calculations still work.
6. Diagnostics
The App or Google Play may collect crash logs and basic performance data so the product can be fixed. These reports can include device model and OS version. They should not include your load book.
7. This website
This GitHub Pages site is static. GitHub may log standard server data (IP address, browser, pages requested) as described in GitHub’s Privacy Statement. We do not run our own analytics on these pages.
8. Children
The App is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have, email us and we will delete what we control.
9. Retention and your choices
- Delete local profiles in the App or by uninstalling.
- Reset Advertising ID in Android settings.
- Revoke location in system settings.
- Email us to ask what limited support records we hold about you.
10. Changes
We may update this policy. The “last updated” date at the top will change. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
