App use disclaimers
1. Nature of the app
TerraTac – Field & Ballistics (“the App”) is a software calculator that estimates trajectory and related values from numbers you enter or that your device sensors or third-party weather services supply. It is an aid for planning and practice. It is not a sighting system, not fire-control equipment, and not professional advice.
2. No guarantee of accuracy
Outputs can differ from real impact for many reasons, including:
- Incorrect muzzle velocity, ballistic coefficient, sight height, twist, or zero distance
- Ammunition lot variation, barrel wear, and carbon or heat changes during a string
- Wind that is not uniform between you and the target
- Temperature, pressure, humidity, and altitude that do not match the values used
- Shooting angle, Coriolis, spin drift, and other effects modeled only approximately
- Scope tracking error, cant, or a zero that has shifted
- Software bugs, stale cached weather, or a device that was dropped or poorly calibrated
Always verify a solution on a known-distance range with a safe backstop before using it in the field.
3. Firearms and field safety
- Treat every firearm as loaded. Keep the muzzle in a safe direction.
- Keep your finger off the trigger until you have made a conscious decision to shoot.
- Be sure of your target and what is in front of, around, and beyond it.
- Do not use the App as your only reason to take a shot where a miss or pass-through could injure people, livestock, or property.
- Follow all federal, state, and local laws. The App does not tell you whether a shot is legal.
- Hunting and range use require separate knowledge of seasons, property lines, and range rules.
4. Not a substitute for training
The App does not teach marksmanship, wind reading, or judgment. Get qualified instruction. Practice until you can call and confirm your own misses without the phone.
5. Health, screens, and the field
Do not stare at the device while handling a firearm. Bright sun, cold, gloves, and damaged glass all make tap errors more likely. If the solution looks wrong, it probably is — stop and re-check inputs.
6. No warranty
The App and this website are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that calculations will be error-free or that the service will be uninterrupted.
7. Publisher and creator not liable for use
The publisher (Bumble Drones), the creator / developer of TerraTac, and their officers, employees, contractors, and affiliates are not liable for how the App is used.
That includes, without limitation:
- Any shot, hold, dial, or skip you make after looking at the App
- Any miss, pass-through, ricochet, or hit on an unintended object
- Injury, death, property damage, livestock loss, or legal penalty
- Use that is careless, illegal, contrary to range rules, or outside training
- Reliance on a wrong, stale, or misunderstood calculation
- Someone else using your device or a shared profile
You — not the publisher, not the creator — assume all risk of use and misuse. Downloading, opening, or continuing to use the App is your agreement that they have no responsibility for your conduct in the field, on the range, or anywhere else.
To the maximum extent allowed by law, they are also not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, gear, game, or opportunity, arising from use or inability to use the App. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limits; in those places, liability is limited to the greatest extent permitted.
8. Lawful use only — publisher and creator not liable for illegal activity
TerraTac – Field & Ballistics is offered only for lawful purposes: target shooting, hunting where it is legal, training, and load work on a safe range. The publisher and the creator do not authorize, condone, assist, or take part in any crime.
You must not use the App to plan, prepare, commit, or hide any illegal act. If you do, that conduct is yours alone.
The publisher and the creator are not responsible or liable for another person’s criminal or otherwise unlawful use of the App. They do not supervise end users. Making a calculator available to the public is not approval of any target or purpose.
Support may be refused for suspected abuse. We will follow the law if a court or agency lawfully requires records we actually have. This clause states intent and puts responsibility on the person who chose to break the law. It does not replace advice from a licensed attorney, and a court may limit how far any disclaimer can go.
9. Your responsibility
By downloading or using the App you agree that:
- You will use it only in ways that are legal where you are.
- You will not rely on it as the sole source of a firing solution in a situation where a miss is unacceptable.
- You will independently confirm critical values (velocity, zero, atmosphere).
- You accept all risk associated with firearms, ammunition, and outdoor activity.
- The publisher and creator are not liable for your use or misuse of the App, including illegal use.
